SHARE YOUR PASSION
My mission is to inspire and motivate people to go after their dream, so I begin the design process by getting to know a little more about you, either in person, via FaceTime or WhatsApp. This gives you the chance to share your passion and design ideas with me directly. Together we will go over various design options, sketch up ideas and determine which gemstone energy and inspirational words of wisdom resonate most with you. Alternatively, you can send me your ideas via our online design form and I will respond to you within 48 hours.

CUSTOMISED CAD
The initial sketch is drawn up into a high-end Computer Aided Design software, which is used to construct an accurate and detailed three-dimensional rendering of your custom ring, along with a quotation, which includes dimensions, finger size, laser inscription and images of your unique gemstone. For extra peace of mind, a gemmological gemstone certificate can also be added to your quotation. Once your CAD drawing is finalised, you will be asked to go over all the details, including your finger size. Any necessary adjustments need to be made within 48 hours of the date of the quotation. Once you are happy with all the specifications of your CAD drawing, you are ready to approve the design and it’s time for the manufacturing process of your unique custom ring to begin.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS
To achieve the highest detail and accuracy, a process called lost wax casting or investment casting is used to produce your unique custom ring. This technique makes use of a wax mould to make a silica shell in which metal is poured and allowed to harden. The wax used for casting the mould is lost in the process. To ensure the highest standards of quality and craftmanship, Design Bay Jewellery uses a team of skilled CAD designers, experienced jewellers, and qualified gem setters to manufacture your one-of-a-kind unique custom ring.
