Frequently Asked Questions

A few of the questions I’m most often asked about creating a custom Design Bay ring.

If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please get in touch. I’m always happy to answer your questions before we begin.

What makes a Design Bay ring unique?

Every Design Bay ring is created to tell a story that is personal to you. Together, we can explore your ideas, meaningful words, precious metals and one-of-a-kind gemstones to create a ring that feels entirely your own.

I design each piece individually, bringing these elements together into something meaningful that you can wear for a lifetime.

It begins with you. We’ll talk about your story, what you would like your ring to represent and any ideas you already have. From there, I’ll help you explore the design, gemstones, precious metals and personal inscription.

Once we have a clear direction, I’ll develop your design and you’ll have the opportunity to review and refine it before your ring is made. I’ll guide you through each stage, from our first conversation through to the finished piece.

As every Design Bay ring is made individually, please allow approximately 6–11 weeks from design approval for your ring to be completed.

If your design requires a particularly rare gemstone or something that needs to be specially sourced, the timeframe may vary. I’ll let you know what to expect before we begin and keep you updated throughout the process.

If you have a particular date or occasion in mind, please let me know when you enquire and I’ll advise what may be possible.

Absolutely. Finding the right gemstone is one of my favourite parts of the design process. I can source rare and one-of-a-kind gemstones from trusted suppliers and present options selected specifically for your ring, your preferences and your story.

You’ll be able to see your gemstone options before making a decision, with photos, videos and relevant specifications provided where available. Gemmological certification can also be arranged where appropriate.

Yes. A hidden inscription is at the heart of Design Bay rings. It might be a word, a phrase, a personal reminder or something known only to you.

I’ll work with you to find an inscription that complements your design and fits beautifully within the ring. The available length will depend on the individual design and ring size.

I work primarily with platinum and 18ct yellow, white and rose gold. I’ll help you choose the metal that best complements your design, gemstone, personal style and how you intend to wear your ring.

Your finished ring will be appropriately stamped to identify its precious metal content.

Yes. The design process is collaborative, and you’ll have the opportunity to review your design before manufacturing begins. This is the time to refine the details and make sure the ring feels right for you.

Once the final design has been approved and manufacturing has commenced, changes may no longer be possible or may involve additional costs.

For the most accurate measurement, I recommend visiting a professional jeweller and asking them to measure your ring size.

If that isn’t convenient, I can send you a complimentary ring sizer so you can measure your finger at home.

Complimentary tracked Express Post is included for Design Bay rings delivered within Australia.

If you’re based overseas and would like to create a ring with me, please get in touch before ordering so I can discuss delivery options and what may be possible for your location.
